(Windows 7 with Outlook 2010 / Windows 10 with Outlook 2013/2016)

 

This article will take you through the steps on setting up your Birdville ISD Exchange e-mail account in Microsoft Outlook on your Windows home computer. The screenshots below will show examples of what it looks like in Outlook 2010 and 2013, they are very similar.

 

Step 1: Double-click the desktop icon to open Microsoft Outlook on your computer shown below.

Step 2: When the Outlook startup wizard comes up, click “Next”.

 

(If the e-mail account setup wizard does not come up automatically skip to Step 4.)

 

Step 3: When prompted if you would like to configure and e-mail account, select “Yes” and click “Next”.





 

(If the Outlook Startup wizard did come up first and you clicked “Yes”, skip to Step 6.)

 

Step 4: Click on the “File” tab in the top left corner.

Step 5: In the “Info” section, under “Account Information”, click on the “Add Account” button.

Step 6: When the Auto Account Setup box opens, make sure “E-mail Account” is selected. Type in your first and last name, your Birdville e-mail address and your network password twice, then click “Next”.





 

(When it is done and successfully configured you will see all green checks)





 

Step 7: Click “Finish”.

 

Outlook will now retrieve your e-mail, calendar appointments and tasks.

 

Please NOTE: Retrieving your e-mail, calendar appointments and tasks may take some time. The amount of time will depend on how large your mailbox is and the speed of your home internet connection.

 

**If you receive a prompt to sign in after setting up your account, choose more options > Sign in as other user. You will then login with the following format:

 

USERNAME: b(yourID#)@bisd.k12

 

PASSWORD: Your computer password
