Step 1

Locate the Bluetooth Icon in the icon tray. This will be located in the lower right-hand side of your surface screen.

Step 2

Right-click on the Bluetooth icon and Left-click on Show Bluetooth Devices.

 Step 3

You will now see available Bluetooth Devices. As you will note, the Pen is not yet available to your Surface. At this point, you will need to hold down the purple button at the eraser end of the Surface pen. Hold the button down for roughly 7 seconds.

Step 4

If done correctly, you should now see the Surface Pen. Left-click on the Surface Pen icon and select Pair at the bottom right.

Buttons On Surface Pen

  • Top Button - When pressed, the surface will bring up the OneNote Application. This is not an Eraser Button.

  • Right-click button - This button functions exactly like the Right-click button on your mouse.

  • Eraser Button - This button can be used to Erase hand written items.

  • Tip - This is the end you will use to navigate your Surface. It functions very similarly to your mouse.
