Teachers will now have access to a docking station for their chromebook/laptop. This gives them the ability to connect their monitor, projector, and all accessories into one device. This will give you instructions on how to connect your chromebook/laptop to the docking station. First, let's take a look at the docking station.
As show in the image above, the Targus Docking Station (Model Dock 180) has all the ports that you'll need to connect your chromebook, along with any external devices that you use. First, you'll connect your chromebook/laptop to the USB 3.1 (Type-C) to Laptop port. You'll use the included USB C cable.
Take notice of Video Stream A (on the left), and Video Stream B (on the right).
These give you an HDMI port and a Display Port. You'll plug your HDMI cable coming out of the wall into the HDMI port (for your projector), and you'll plug your monitor into the Display port. Keep in mind, these cables cannot be plugged into the same Video Stream. One cable will go into Video Stream A and the other will go into Video Stream B.
Take notice of the 4 USB 3.0 Ports. This will be for connecting all of your external devices. For example, Keyboard/Mouse, document camera, etc.
There's also an ethernet port, where you'll insert your ethernet cable. There's the power in port, where you'll plug in the included AC Adapter.
This USB 3.0 port on the side is another place to connect an external device (keyboard/mouse, document camera, etc). This port also supports charging, so you could charge a device in this port if needed (like a phone).
On the other side, you have a USB-C and a headset/microphone port. Below is a video from Targus with more instructions on using this docking station.
